Stone performing arts school Rooftop Studios made history last week, as the first external group to hire the town’s new Crown Wharf Theatre. Tap dancers from Rooftop Studios once again took part in the annual Tapathon challenge this month, raising funds for Children in Need along the way. Rooftop dancers ranging in age from tots to adults joined tappers from schools across the country to perform a coordinated routine in an attempt to set a new Guiness World Record, with this year’s event taking place on Sunday 17th November. A troupe of street dancers from Stone’s Rooftop Studios is celebrating having gained second place at their first ever competition! On 12th May the studio’s street dance comp team, RTK, headed to Cannock Leisure Centre to take part in Audacity Events’ dance competition. A young dancer from our Stone performing arts studios recently joined the Midland Theatre Ballet to dance in their production of Snow White. 16-year-old Evie Hodgkinson has danced at the studio for the past 2 years and has continued her dance training through her GCSEs, opting to take Dance as a GCSE alongside training for her RAD Grade 8 ballet exam.
