Rooftop Studios ‘taps’ its way to £1,635 for Children in Need
Tap dancers from Rooftop Studios once again took part in the annual Tapathon challenge this month, raising funds for Children in Need along the way.
Rooftop dancers ranging in age from tots to adults joined tappers from schools across the country to perform a coordinated routine in an attempt to set a new Guiness World Record, with this year’s event taking place on Sunday 17th November.
In addition to the Tapathon, students from both the Stone and Leek branches wore their PJs to classes and could bring a friend along to join in the fun for a small donation over Children in Need week – boosting the charitable funds to an impressive £1,635.
Studio principal, Laura Keeling, says:
“We always look forward to Children in Need – the tapathon is always great fun and the kids love getting behind the fundraising. We always have a visit from Pudsey Bear, too, which makes things extra special. A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the fundraising efforts this year – and to Miss Verity to organising the tapathon.”
In addition to offering a range of dance, drama and performing arts classes for ages 18 months to adult, Rooftop Studios provides a friendly, ‘family’ atmosphere with lots of opportunities to perform at take part in fun events like the tapathon.
