Kit

Kit started dancing aged two and very quickly realised that performing was all she wanted to do. Kit started drama lessons at the local theatre and quickly got involved in lots of amateur theatre productions and also enjoyed classical singing lessons too. After A Levels kit took a year out to work, play Dick Whittington’s Cat in Professional Panto and joined a function band in Birmingham with whom she sang most weekends for about a decade. Kit then studied Contemporary Theatre and Performance at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she returned a few years later to train as a Secondary Drama Teacher. Kit was still singing professionally whilst training as a teacher and continued during her 6 year stint as a drama teacher in a school in Stoke on Trent… finally the call back to performing was far too strong and Kit then became a freelance teacher in Drama and singing but this gave her space to audition and work professionally as both a singer and actor. Since then Kit has had many interesting and crazy roles… working as an actor in a scare maze, as a singer at Alton Towers Hotel, as a Performer in immersive theatre pieces by ReStoke, went on tour as a singer in a show with the Drifters, in Pantomine with her dear friend Nick of Rooftop’s fame, and many many more… unfortunately Kit is so old now she doesn’t remember! Kit first started working at Rooftop Studios when she was pregnant with her son – Oscar is now almost 12! Kit loves teaching at Rooftops alongside her friend of 30 plus years Nick, and her giggle partner Rob. Kit’s fun fact – Kit went back to college two years ago and is now a fully qualified hairdresser and barber – she also did a course in hair extensions!
