Rooftop teachers take to the stage in professional panto run
Two much-loved members of the Rooftop Studios teaching team are stepping into the spotlight this festive season as they star in Sheringham Little Theatre’s pantomime, The Wizard of Oz.
LAMDA teacher Nick Earnshaw takes on the role of the Cowardly Lion, while singing teacher Alex Mellor will be casting spells as the Wicked Witch of the West.
Stage Academy drama teacher Nick Earnshaw has been writing and directing professional pantomimes for almost a decade — and performing in them for even longer. After many years playing the Dame at Hertford Theatre, Nick was invited to direct for Sheringham Little Theatre in Norfolk. His shows proved so successful that he was soon commissioned to write for Great Yarmouth Theatre as well, cementing his reputation as a talented and versatile pantomime creative.
Alex Mellor, meanwhile, grew up at Rooftop Studios, joining the school at the age of three before training professionally at Mountview Theatre School. Her career has taken her to regular performances on the West End stage, and she now balances her teaching at Rooftops with ongoing professional work in singing and acting.
